Sorry Had to get the request in first, now I shall take time to comment on your blog......

Food - really like healthy stuff, M-i-l always comments that as everyone else is scoffing chocolate and cakes I'm raiding the fruit bowl! Wasn't always like that - quite often would drink over 2 litres of diet coke, and masses of chocolate bars i.e. 500g bars!!! Then the coke turned to guiness and the bars into Mars bars. Not sure why but now fruit, veg, toast, and savories are my food tipple.

Holdiay -Enjoy, Enjoy, Enjoy - the crisis will all be forgotten about by the time you come back (well we don't keep refering to the one after twin towers and that was quite a serious blip too!)

CLP - Ave goot away of eatin' chocolate but without putting on the weight, aka the fat contentation of the chocolate ingredients!!!
I mesen often eat chocolate in the evening and despite jogging/ doing the old weights, a couldn't get ridda the spare tyre. The reason.... the above reason!!!
So a suddenly thought why do I eat this chocolate then swallow and it goes ter the tyre manufactuers near the stomach.... why swallow I thought!!
So whatta do now is say a bar with 8 blocks of choccie. Yer chew the first three (seperately) then spit it out inter a beaker. Yeah, then the fourth yer swallow... and repeat for the final 'alf of the bar.
That way yer still eat it but without eating it.... all and yer only consume a quarter of the calories and fat..... NNNYYYYYYYYYYAAAA!!!!!
A tell yer it works!!!
I aven't gooot an eating disorder. I am in total control of me eating.... DON'T WORRY ALL!!!
In fact ave never missed the beaker... ever!

It has been a day.

Chums. Here's the rub.

Many have congratulated me about my new job, and I really, really appreciate all the sentiments that have been tossed in the general direction of Rudgwick.

But. The goalposts have shifted, ever so slightly.

I DO have a new job. But, not the one I thought I had.

Ha! Confused? My head is spinning.

The truth is, this morning, up in wonderful Colr, a deal was struck.

A deal that leaves your friend in a much better position than before.

I never thought I'd drop the clutch and slip back into reverse, but this was something I couldn't turn down.

It did mean backtracking and letting a mate down, but these are incredibly difficult times and whilst I don't wish to sound heartless, we all have to look after our own.

By the way, he understands. He has been there, and he said that in the same circumstances, he would have done the same.

Guys. Thanks for enduring this with me. I have treasured every word of encouragement and support that you have given me. When the bloggers meet at The M does finally happen I will, gulp, buy the first round.

Just tell him that in the event of an emergency he should call you no matter what time!! Then just try and relax. No news is good news.

The good news is that my 17yo wont be out late tonight, the bad news is that is because he is grounded due a couple of incidents in school this week

I didn't think that at 17, going on 18, I would not still be getting calls home about his behaviour.

So no footy tomorrow and no party tonight.

Grounding a 17yo seems daft, but as parents what other sanctions do we have?

Then a discovery this evening which knocks the rest into a tin hat.

Of for the days of Empire when I could have sent him off to join the army in India!

PP - my mum had a sore big toe, got it checked out, was told it was nothing but 4 days later ended up in agony and total bedrest for 3 wks with blood poisoning and a threat of toe amputation if she didnt do as she was told... sorry, bit dramatic but if u think its anything serious stamp your good foot and make sure its checked out! Good luck!

Well bath done. Managed to chill out but was greeted on exit by angry LM (woke up) stressed teen (waiting for lift) and very grumpy Mr Debbie (just because he can).

TTT I still ground our 17 year old. I believe in 'hitting them where it hurts' that sounds terrible I know. But when he crosses the line he has to know that there are consequences. Do I sound very harsh? Sorry if I do but it's so stressful here sometimes.

PP hope that you are ok and can make it tomorrow, understand it it's difficult but would be nice to meet you all the same.

Teenagers can be a problem at times, very much like the Harry Enfield Character.

However when my daughter had a party one time which I was overseeing they all spotted me in another room with headphones on swaying away to my music. They all laughed I thought I was quite mad.

Don't worry they grow up give them some rope is my advice.

I sympathise with you. I've got a 15yro stepson who is a handful i've even told plod and the school what do i do if he don't listen? the ONLY choice i got is to batter him (school looked very shocked when this was said) he then went and walked of the meeting with the head *shakes head* The woman from the council had the cheek to say that if he didn't attend school then i'd get fined. short of "breaching his human rights" what else can ya do with 'em eh *sighs again*

Scoob, you've hit the nail on the head, as it were...I remember like yesterday what it was like to be a teenager (though nowhere as stroppy as current teen2), and I hope I have a much closer relationship with my daughters than my Mam had with me, so I want to be much more accessible. I felt very understood much of the time, trouble is, try to be understanding and they still feel misunderstood! Aargh!

Actually I think it's just a natural rite of passage, but oh it's wearing!

Evening whoever is left - late down here to bolt hole - didn't leave home until 3.30 so after couple of stops didn't get in till 8. Mr B chief cook whilst here so baked fish while place warmed up - yuk! Shellfish my fav - ordinary not for me except freshly cooked from local chippie - cooked as I wait - only way to go!
Spanish pork with olives and saffron rice tom - yum!!! that's more like it!

My pizza topping meat meat and more meat on the cheese and tom - love pepperoni! and green peppers.

Gingembre - can't resist fresh pineapple with me gammon and home made sweet and sour - presume you mean battered with your FandChips?

I am so tired. Up between 3.40am and 5am as the eldest was not home. Long story. Not a good one.

Mr Debbie drove miles to go and get him and they were back at 4.30am anyway.

All I can say is ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Jubilee line is down, Bank Station is very restricted access, I have no idea how Im going to get there??!!!! Have been looking on London Transport and the journey looks almost impossible!!!
