Chart Report - 21/10/07

Post categories:

Fraser McAlpine | 22:17 UK time, Sunday, 21 October 2007

1 - Sugababes - 'About You Now'
SugababesChartSnipe: There was a run of four Sugababes singles, in 2003-4, which contained the word 'in'. 'Hole In The Head', 'Too Lost In You', 'In The Middle' and 'Caught In A Moment'. During their entire 19 song chart career, the word has only cropped up in song titles those four times, and they're all next to each other. Weird, eh? *smarmyvoice* In fact, it's almost as if, during that time, the Sugababes were In-Dependent Women!!

OK, OK, no need to throw stuff, I'm going...

=======================

2 - Mark Ronson ft Amy Winehouse - 'Valerie'
Mark RonsonChartSnipe: "I miss your ginger hair", sings young Amy Winehouse, "and the way you like to dress". Which leaves one pretty urgent line of inquiry...How many people does she hang around with that DON'T like to dress? Enough that she misses the ones who do? Or has she drunk so much she now believes she's in a 24 hour nudist colony? Someone should check...

=======================

3 - Britney Spears - 'Gimme More'
Britney SpearsChartSnipe: In all honesty, does anyone actually believe what Ms Spears needs right now is MORE? Of ANYTHING? I'm not sure she can take it.

=======================

Hoosiers4 - Hoosiers - 'Goodbye Mr A'
ChartSnipe: Hoosiers? Who's ears? MY bloody ears, you squeaky maniacs!

=======================

5 - Ida Corr Vs Fedde Le Grand - 'Let Me Think About It'
Fedde Le GrandUnfortunate names both. One is a description of giving food to an overweight Frenchman (fed-y le grand, see?), and the other is a manfloozy's idle boast. "I'da Corr once. It was rubbish. I'll go for one of the girls next time..."

=======================

The entire Top 40 is right here...
