Ida Corr & Fedde Le Grande - 'Let Me Think About It'

Ida CorrAnd here we all were thinking that the only musical members of the family Corr were Andrea, Caroline, the other girl and the man one. But no, here's cousin Ida (who possibly isn't really their cousin), and it's fair to say she comes from the side of the family who are less interested in creating laminated folk-pop, and more interested in creating some kind of dance-floor ruckus.

But you can't lose the gifts you are given by Mother Nature, and if there IS a melodic gene swimming about in the Corr family pool, well Ida's nicked it. A crime which goes some way to explain some of the Corrs more...unusual musical ideas (that yodelling in 'Breathless' for starters). Nevertheless, it's pretty nasty to make off with the family talent, even though they're not your actual family.

How do I know she's got it? Well, as we know, dance music can be something of a melodic desert at times. A rhythmical rain-forest, yes, and a groove ocean, but often dry and arid when it comes to Tunes What You Can Whistle. Ringtone-derived Euro-cheese doesn't count either, that's like when you drink loads of fizzy pop to quench your thirst, only to discover the sugar has dried your entire body, and you are now a small pile of dust on the floor. Happens to us all, right?

So, Ida and Fedde's little face-off is a pleasant oasis, she brings the nourishing melody and ice-clear voice, he brings the funky camels. As a hybrid song, it's a bit Michael Jackson (her bits), and a bit Fedde Le Grande (his bits). That's not me failing to find a suitable comparison for him, by the way, the backing is straight out of Fedde's own remix of 'The Creeps', which was a hit a short while ago. The man's working to a formula here, people.

I tell you what though, cousin Andrea's going to be SO FED UP when she finds out who's run off with the family jewels.

Blimey! I knew the Corrs were 'taking time off' to breed prodigiously, but there are hunnerds of them in the video!

Is this the first sign of The Corrs attempt to rival China in 21st century population density? We need to know, and plan accordingly.

And if that is Pepe Le Pew who's in the video with the Clan of Corr, he looks far to smug.

    * trans - no one bought their last record, so they went away to wash each other in rivers of gold, falling from the pixie bedecked waterfall at the foot of the rainbow, begorrah, pausing only to indulge in antics unbecoming a family publication such as this.

And then filming the outcome, seen above.

Really like this song, even after its been in the Dutch charts for 14 weeks.

Ida's voice is really good and so is Fedde's backing (even though it is recycled).

I must admit that this is the first time I've seen the video for this song. The song is a bit different than the radio edit I'm so used to by now, but it's still a really good tune.
