Raise You Game: How dedicated do you have to be to reach the highest level?

Brett Morse: I try to do everything to throw as far as I possibly can. I train twice a day every day apart from Saturday. Saturday is my one day off because it's important to have a rest day. This means that I have to make sacrifices such as not going out with my friends, but it's worth it for that medal.

RYG: Are the rewards worth it?

BM: Sport is definitely worth it. I've always played football and rugby since I was a kid and I've always put my all into it. When I started athletics I found that I became good quite quickly so I thought to myself "Why not give it a go?"

RYG: How do you keep mentally focused to achieve your goals?

BM: In 2010 I became the first Welsh athlete to win discus at the UK Championships. My coach always sets me goals which have helped me to achieve personal bests and British records. He also suggests ways that I can improve. It's great because he always wants me to do better and he's happy with anything that I do. That's how I keep mentally focused all the time.

RYG: How do you deal with the pressure of competing?

BM: I love pressure. I like having everyone watching me. That's what I've trained for - not to shy away from things.

RYG: What are your goals and ambitions for the future?

BM: The 2012 Olympics in London obviously and hopefully more Olympic competitions after that.
