1957: World War Two bomb defused underwater

An unexploded World War Two bomb is defused by the 51st Minesweeping Squadron on 26 January 1957.

The parachute mine containing around 1,600lb of explosives had been discovered under London's West India Docks during a routine inspection.

The bomb had to be defused underwater as a change in pressure could have caused it to explode.
