Lois Maxwell, the former Miss Moneypenny, discusses the role of Bond girl with Jenni Murray and film critic Anne Billson. They agree that things have moved on since the days of such characters as Honey Ryder and Mary Goodnight, but that a bikini appearance is probably still obligatory.

Lois Maxwell's real name was Lois Hooker. She played Miss Moneypenny in the first 14 Bond films and was the only cast member to appear in every outing from 1962 until 1985. However, it has been estimated that, in all the Bond movies put together, she spoke fewer than 200 words and was on screen for a total of just one hour.
