1984: Sam Wanamaker - bringing Shakespeare's Globe back to life

The story of one particularly passionate man, Sam Wanamaker, the chief driving force behind the campaign to bring Shakepeare's Globe back to life in the heart of London.

Born on 14 June 1919 in Chicago, he established himself first as an actor and director.

Regretfully he never got to see the completion of the new Shakespeare's Globe which finally opened in 1997, having died in June 1993.
