2000: Fourth Harry Potter book breaks records

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire broke all publishing records upon its release in July 2000.

The fourth instalment of JK Rowling's series was released simultaneously on both sides of the Atlantic.

Many bookshops stayed open late and laid on wizard-related entertainments so that fans could buy the book as soon as it was released for sale at midnight.

The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ’s Lizo Mzimba caught up with JK Rowling on a specially created Hogwarts Express - the fictional train to wizard school - on a promotional tour to Scotland.
