2000: Queen Mother's 100th birthday
Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother, celebrates her 100th birthday on 4 August 2000.
She had previously set the record as the longest-living British royal in 1998 at the age of 97.
The Queen Mother received a 100th birthday card from her daughter, Queen Elizabeth II, as is custom for centenarians.
