Standing among the books in the Belfast Public Library on Royal Avenue, James Boyce recalls the time when the room was home to the Granger Collection of curios and antiquities. Photographs show how the famous mummy of 'Princess' Takabuti and the magnificent South Cross from Monasterboice held centre stage in a collection that included items ranging from a stuffed lynx to penny farthing bicycles.

The mummy of Lady Takabuti (who was not actually a princess) is still one of the most popular exhibits at the . It is known that Takabuti was married, between 20 and 30 years of age and lived in Thebes at the end of the 25th Dynasty of Egypt.
