Sounding tense as shells fall nearby, Robin Duff describes the scene from very close quarters as a convoy of merchant ships can do nothing but keep sailing while the RAF and the Royal Navy try to protect it from German bombers.

It is not known whether the image shown here was captured while Robin Duff made this particular broadcast, but records show that a German plane dived down and machine-gunned Duff and his crew while they were recording a dogfight over Dover on 23 August 1940.
