I had a great day with my granddaughters Isobel and robyn. We waited ages to see the Queen and at last we saw her leaving in the car. If only our family friend, your John Ottley, could have told us where the best view would be, we would have had a great view! We hope the Queen comes again. From Shirley

A day of smiles. From the first police who directed and searched us to Michael Hempel and the Lord High Almoner who were organising everything with smiles on their faces as they went about the business of the final arrangements. And then the Queen with a big smile and Prince Philip read so well. The recipients, though nervous and often a bit emotional, looking so proud with their bags of Maundy money. We had a delicious lunch in the Athenaeum and came away with smiles and memories of a wonderful day.It was also good to meet Peter of Radio Suffolk too at lunch, nice to have a face to the name!

Thank you for the fabulous photos (numbers 1 and 33) of me and my friends meeting The Queen.

It was an honour to speak with the Queen and I sent her love from Australia, as my mum actively campaigns for the Australians for Constitutional Monarchy party! It was a happy day for all the people of Bury St Edmunds and I very much enjoyed myself!
