New line up for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Suffolk

Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Suffolk's Managing Editor Peter Cook explains all about the fresh new sound to the station, starting on Monday 23 February 2009.

So, Why change things?

We make small changes to the sound of our station all the time but sometimes we need to make a bigger change to keep our sound fresh.

Peter Cook

Peter Cook

Our listeners are great at telling us what they like, and what they don't like, and we get audience figures which help tell us what's working well.ΜύSo we react to those too.

I think the changes we're making offer our listeners more of what they love and make sure that we keep doing what we do best, celebrating everything that's great about Suffolk and sharing our pride and passion for the county with our audience.

We love talking to Suffolk about Suffolk but we also love playing some great music too, so hopefully you'll be hearing your favourite songs.

What's happening then?

Well, Mark Murphy's had the job of waking up Suffolk with his award-winning breakfast show for about 10 years now and the good news is that he's getting an extra half hour.

Listeners will also be delighted to know that his daily cornflake conundrum competition will return and they get the chance to get their hands on his ugly mug again.

James and the team

Sally, James, Sharon and Dixie

James Hazell's proved to be a real hit with the audience since joining the station about 18 months ago and he'll get some extra time too.

James's show is aimed at presenting a big slice of life every day, discussing all sorts of things like family issues, relationships, food, fashion and money.ΜύHe also makes sure there's always a healthy dollop of fun every day.

Lesley Dolphin takes her lunchtime sofa onto her new show between 1pm and 4pm.

Lesley will continue talking to people from all walks of life on her programme while looking at subjects like local history, going out in Suffolk, the arts, holidays, gardening, wildlife and conservation.

And listeners will still hear Stephen Foster from 4pm where he'll be rounding up the day's news and taking a look at the world of theatre, television and film.

Stephen's got two big passions: Music and speedway and he'll be Suffolk's champion for both of those with regular updates on Ipswich Witches and his Introducing hour every night featuring the best in local music.

You can also hear Stephen on his new Sunday morning show between 9am and midday.

Where's Luke Deal going?

Luke's working with Stephen Foster (what are we letting ourselves in for?!) and you'll hear him presenting his Sunday breakfast show every weekend, from 6am until 9am.

If you've not heard him on Sunday's then set your alarm and find out what you've been missing.

I'd love to be involved with Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Suffolk

Well, we're always looking for fresh new talent in Suffolk, take Matt and Simon our fantastic duo on Sunday afternoons for instance.Μύ So, if you think you've got what it takes I'd love to hear from you.
