    FT: Hibernian 1-3 Hearts

Following tonight's disappointing 3-1 derby defeat, Hibernian head coach Jack Ross was keen to express the hurt in suffering a loss like this evening's.

Speaking to Â鶹ԼÅÄ Sportsound post-match, Ross said: "You can’t down play the soreness of losing a game like this.

"It means an awful lot to people that come to watch the club and people that are associated with the club.

"It hurts and it stings, but in terms of the bigger picture it’s very easy to get caught up in the extremes of the emotion in football. That’s what we’ve got to make sure we don’t do."

    FT: Hibernian 1-3 Hearts

Speaking to Â鶹ԼÅÄ Sportsound post-match, Hearts head coach Daniel Stendel expressed how proud he is of his team following tonight's 3-1 victory.

"I’m very proud of my team today, it was a great result for us", he said. "We are under pressure at the moment, but how solid the players were today was great."

"The penalty was good for us because we got more spaces in the counter situation and scored another two goals. Not only am I happy, but a lot of people today are happy.

"What’s important for us is after the victory against Rangers on Saturday is that we can do it again and we have our next chance on Saturday at Tynecastle [against Motherwell]. We want to use all our chances at the moment."

They'd been leaking goals prior to the weekend, but their shape has been excellent in the last two games.

Hearts second half performance was far more powerful and determined, and Hibs lacked creativity throughout the game. All credit to Hearts. They were compact and organised start to finish

  15. FULL-TIME- Hibernian 1-3 Heartspublished at 21:35 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2020

What a huge result for Hearts in their bid for survival. They move off the bottom of the Premiership.

After a scrappy first half, Hearts got the crucial opening goal from the penalty spot courtesy of Sean Clare, after Scott Allan's handball.

Oliver Bozanic scored a stunning second, and Conor Washington added the third on the break. Mirker Hallberg's close-range finish was mere consolation for Hibs.

The Hearts players celebrate in front of a raucous away end. Well deserved.

    It's surely only a consolation?

Jamie Gullan does well down the right to get a cross in to Darly Horgan, whose close-range effort is blocked by Sean Clare. But it falls to substitute Hallberg to thunder into the roof of the net from about seven yards out.
