England made an awful start in the first T20 before eventually winning by 53 runs.

The hosts slipped to 11-4 inside the first three overs, before Heather Knight and Amy Jones led a fightback to post 163-6.

Knight scored 49 and Jones 37 in a fifth-wicket stand of 67, before Danielle Gibson's entertaining 41 not out from 21 balls provided a late boost.

In reply, Pakistan squandered a positive start with England leg-spinner Sarah Glenn's career-best 4-12 sparking a drastic collapse from 66-2 to 110 all out.

It is my esteemed colleague Matthew Henry's birthday today. What better way to spend it than at a gloriously sunny Headingley.

I'm also hearing he has been serenaded to a rendition of 'Happy Birthday' in the media centre.

I will leave it to you to guess how old he is - all I'll say is don't use his (old) profile picture as a guide...

  10. 'It's about making partnerships'published at 12:40 British Summer Time 19 May

Pakistan captain Nida Dar speaking to Sky Sports: "We'd have definitely bowled.

"We've done well with bowling and fielding, we need to do better on the batting side so we've added one more batter today.

"It's not about power hitting, it's about making partnerships. They'll be crucial for us. We've been struggling with spinners, but hopefully the one more batter will help."

England captain Heather Knight talking to Sky Sports: "It looks like a reasonable surface, it might do a bit early but then dry out in the northern sun.

"We were back to our best the other day. It impressed me how the batters went about the powerplay on a slow wicket. The fielding was really pleasing.

"We've made one change, Lauren Bell is resting with Lauren Filer (pictured) coming in. We've got a really strong squad, any player we call upon can do a really good job for England and Lauren has that point of difference with her pace. It's important to have that squad depth, you don't know what's going to happen with injuries.

"2018 was the last international here, it's nice to come up north and hopefully we can put on a show."
