After Afghanistan's win over England on Sunday, the Netherlands have shown that no team can take anything for granted with a stunning 38-run win over South Africa.

That shock result means India and New Zealand are the only sides to take a maximum six points from their first three games.

South Africa and Pakistan currently occupy the final two semi-final qualification places on four points.

Netherlands join England, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Australia on two points, with Sri Lanka the only side yet to pick up a point so far.

If you didn't know. England face South Africa in the Cricket World Cup in Mumbai from 09:30 BST on Saturday morning, before the two countries lock horns in the Rugby World Cup semi-final in Paris at 20:00.

It should be quite the day.

Here's more from Netherlands captain Scott Edwards: "Obviously extremely proud. We came into this tournament with high expectations after playing a lot of good cricket. We have a lot of good players. But there are nine other very good sides here. So just very excited to get that first win out of the way after three games and hopefully a few more to come.

"We do our fair bit of research into the other teams. We obviously have guys who have played with the South African players before so we came up with a few match-ups. Some days it works, some days it doesn't. So it was nice that a few things came off today."

On how much confidence they can take from this for the rest of the tournament: "This is a massive boost for us. In our first two games we were in decent positions but just fell away through the middle. So it was nice that we could put a few partnerships together at the end there and get ourselves to a total we thought was going to be competitive.

On what this means to the people back in the Netherlands: "I'm sure there's plenty of fans staying up and watching the game. There is always a lot of support around. We are extremely grateful for all the support we have had and hopefully we have got a few messages from them."

Samuel: Loser of England vs South Africa at the weekend will decide who has had the bigger World Cup upset loss this WC.

South Africa captain Temba Bavuma: "At 112-6 we didn't want to let them get over 200 and we definitely dropped the ball there. We were still confident that we could chase down the score but we didn't get partnerships and we didn't adapt to the double spin in the powerplay. Credit to them, they exploited some weaknesses in our game.

"We were clinical against Australia but the challenge is always to come back and replicate it. The extras is something we can control and giving away 30 extras is an extra five overs and it will always cost. It is something for us to talk about. In the end it cost us quite a bit.

"The fielding wasn't up to standard. If you look at the way we fielded against Australia compared to today it definitely wasn't the same. Those are conversations we need to have and guys need to answer, mentally, where they were.

"We'll have to let the emotion seep in. There is no point trying to forget what happened. It will hurt and it should hurt. Tomorrow we'll get back on the journey, our campaign is no means other.

"It was a proper display from the Netherlands. Big ups to them. They prepared very well and if you give them a sniff they won't let go."

Here is the winning moment as Logan van Beek took the wicket of Keshav Maharaj to seal a stunning 38-run win.

Netherlands captain and player of the match Scott Edwards: "In the last couple of games our issue has been too many of our middle order being out before the end of the game. So I wanted to take it deep and hope a couple guys around me would chip in. We were lucky enough to get I don't know how many at the end there but it was nice."

On batting partnership with Roelof van der Merwe: "He is good fun to bat with. He runs hard and hits it in quite strange areas, which is good to watch and I'm sure it is from the outside as well.

"It was pretty easy on my behalf. I just got him on strike. He was just clearing the ropes. It is some of the best hitting I have seen in a long time, especially from a number 10. He has got the talent and it was awesome to see today."

On what the win means personally: "Proud of the group. Putting in that performance and being able to play my part is nice. When we came into the tournament we wanted to have a chance at playing semi-finals and if you want to do that you've got to beat teams. Obviously South Africa are probably one of the favourites the way they are playing so it is a big win for us."

This is a clinical performance, a well thought out performance. There have been some heroic individual performances. The Netherlands have been fantastic with the ball, the spinners of course playing their crucial part. The Dutch wanted it and they believed it could happen. For me, the most iconic and memorable win for Dutch cricket history.

A fantastic day for Dutch cricket, the planning and the execution. We thought they were initially getting blown away and yet here they are shaking hands with the South Africa team with a win under their belts. It’s hard to believe but here it is.

They’re going to have to delve into it and tear it apart and work out how it actually happened. We’re going to be glowing in our pace for the Dutch team and also for individual performances. Van de Merwe changed it for this team and Scott Edwards jumped on that and put the South Africa team to the sword. It was Ackermann who then got the breakthrough and the game changed again.

The Netherlands bench erupted the moment the umpire's finger was raised. The 11 players on the field bedecked in bright orange roared in celebration, with hugs and high fives everywhere.

It is a victory for the ages and one that has blown this tournament right open.

This game certainly deserves a good finish. They are teasing for this last wicket.

There's a real sense of anticipation here. I'm sure the Netherlands would like to seal victory by bowling South Africa out. And it can happen at any moment.

Logan van Beek oversteps and Lungi Ngidi pulls to the rope for five byes, but he cannot take advantage of the free hit next ball.

There's plenty of smiles among the men in orange as the edge ever closer to victory.

South Africa will have to analyse this. They won't want to just say 'that was a bad contest' - you have to delve a little bit deeper than that.
