Swansea winger Eom set for six weeks out

Swansea City winger Eom Ji-Sung is set for six weeks on the sidelines after suffering a knee ligament injury while on international duty.
Eom has started all Swansea’s Championship games so far this season after signing from South Korean top-flight club Gwangju FC in July.
But the 22-year-old looks set to miss Swansea's next nine league games after getting injured playing for South Korea.
"He has hurt his knee, so we're going to fix his knee and he will be back on the pitch hopefully in six weeks," said Swansea head coach Luke Williams.
"We're very pleased to have got him back quickly, so we can begin [his rehabilitation].
"He's in the best place possible now. Hopefully we can help him make a full recovery without any long-lasting problems."
Eom came on as an early substitute to win his third senior cap in the World Cup qualifier against Jordan last Thursday, but was then forced off after a challenge in the second half.
He returned to Wales before South Korea’s second game of the international break, against Iraq on Tuesday.
The loss of Eom is a blow for Swansea given that he has been one of the more creative players in a side lacking attacking threat in the early stages of the season.

He has featured in all 11 of Swansea’s games in 2024-25 having joined the Welsh club for an undisclosed fee.
"He's improved throughout the early part of the season," added Williams.
"This first quarter of the season I think he's improved steadily. I think he's somebody that excites us on a matchday and he's learned how to do the work that's not necessarily natural to him - there's offensive duties and remembering his actions on set-plays and so on. He's been excellent.
"I think we're going to miss the excitement and the way he can change direction so quickly, but he'll be back with us before we know it so he'll be okay."
Eom’s injury leaves Williams with a hole to fill when Swansea return to league action at Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, with Florian Bianchini, Azeem Abdulai and Myles Peart-Harris among the contenders to come into the side.
