Torquay United manager Paul Wotton said he "let himself down" after receiving a booking during his side's 2-1 win at Bath City on Tuesday.

Wotton was shown a yellow card after protesting a decision in the first half of the National League South match.

"I talk to the players about being disciplined and as the leader, I've got to practice what I preach but it's an emotional game, football," Wotton told Â鶹ԼÅÄ Radio Devon.

The incident did not dampen Torquay's performance as they bounced back from their 1-0 defeat by Farnborough on Saturday.

Torquay opened the scoring through Cody Cooke, who scored his first goal for the club in the 12th minute. Ed Palmer doubled the lead in the second half with a header to make it 2-0.

Bath pulled a goal back late on but the Gulls were able to see the game out.

"It was a long way home from Farnbrough on Saturday," Wotton said.

"It was a very disappointed bus and in training, they were still low. It was a case of getting them up and being focused for today.

"I thought [today] it was a very good, gritty away performance."
