Stuart Grace

Project R&D Engineer

Stuart Grace

Stuart is a member of the Computing and Networks at Scale team in our North Lab, concentrating on building the infrastructure required for a high-performance, secure and resilient on-premise cloud platform. He previously worked in the IP Studio team on techniques for efficiently sending uncompressed video across networks at 10 gigabits per second and faster.

Stuart studied computer science at Cambridge University and then worked for various companies designing and developing software for scientific and technical products. He joined Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ R&D in 2010, starting on the Trainee Technologist scheme. Although an experienced software engineer, he had limited knowledge of video, audio and broadcast engineering, so the training programme helped to fill in these gaps.

During training, Stuart worked on projects involving video processing, digital TV decoding, subtitle positioning and haptic feedback, amongst other things.
