Marco Cappato on why the Radical Party is forcing a referendum onÌýItaly's fertility laws

Earlier this year the Italian government introduced new laws on the use of assisted reproduction techniques.

These included banning the testing of embryos for genetic disorders, the enforced implantation in women of all embryos created through IVF and the banning of access to IVF and other techniques for single women or gay couples.

But now the law is being challenged by the country's Radical Party who have collected enough signatures to force a referendum on the issue.Ìý

Marco Cappato talks about whyÌýthe RadicalÌýParty feel so strongly about the issue.
