How one victim of domestic violence helped get a tougher sentence

'Joyce' was hit around the head with a hammer by her husband as she lay injured at the bottom of a flight of stairs. She was saved by the intervention of her 13-year-old son. When her husband was eventually convicted she was so incensed by the 3 year sentence that she decided to take the system on and persuaded government lawyers to appeal against his sentence.

'Joyce' talks to Jenni about her fight, her success and the implications of her case for other women and Nicola Harwin, Director of Women's Aid also joins the discussion.
