Ìý Children missing education 01ÌýMar 2004 Ìý
Kay Lindley is headteacher at Victoria Primary School in Keighley, West Yorkshire. She contacted her MP Ann Cryer because of her concerns about extended school absence.

As many as 40% of kids are absent at any one time, for nearly a quarter of the entire school year. She says the result is that many of them are struggling with English and the school is getting bad OFSTED reports.

Ann Cryer, MP for Keighley and Adeeba Malik, deputy chief executive of QED UK join Jenni to discuss what can be done.
