Ìý Women and Iraqi Elections 31 December 2003 Ìý
Iraqi Women
As Iraqis prepare to resume control of their own affairs, we hear from Baghdad about the campaign to make sure women's voices are heard. We are updated on the situation post-Saddam and take a look forward to elections in March.

What provisions are being made to bring women into the process? Are quotas necessary? ...and with the Americans resisting calls for quotas - is there any chance women will be fairly represented?

Woman's Hour speaks with Safia Al-Souhain, independent women's activist and Nasreen Berwari, the only woman Minister in Iraq.
