Although Romeo and Juliet was written over 400 years ago, for Verona, the ideal of the star-crossed lovers is still very much alive.
But it's the young Juliet rather than Romeo that people connect to. Not only do thousands of tourists flock to the city every year to see Juliet's house and to go on that famous balcony, they write to her as well.
The first letter, simply addressed to Juliet, Verona, arrived in 1937, sparked by the Romeo and Juliet film of the previous year, with Norma Shearer playing Juliet. The then curator of her tomb replied to it, but the letters kept on coming.
Now The Juliet Club answers more than 4,000 letters a year from all around the world and every Valentine's Day they award a prize for the best love letter. Lara Corner went to Verona to meet a modern day Juliet - Giovanna one of the secretaries at The Juliet Club.
