Ìý Appearance-Related Bullying Thursday 9 January 2003 Ìý
Bullies in the playground may have always called their victims fatty or four-eyes, but new research suggests that this kind of abuse has a profound impact on the development and schooling of teenagers.

We speak with a young girl who has been bullied at school but who has worked out ways to boost her own self esteem.
Dr Emily Lovegrove joins Jenni from the British Psychological Society Conference, alongwith NSPCC Adviser Alison O'Brien, to explain why this type of bullying causes a fifth of 15 year olds to play truant - and what can be done to help them fight back.
If you'd like further information call our Actionline on 0800 044 044.
British Psychological Society Conference (Division of Educational and Child Psychology) taking place in Harrogate, 8-10 January 2003.
