Ìý Amy Vedder Tuesday 3 September 2002 Ìý
Back in the 1970s, Diane Fossey grabbed the western world's attention with her work to save the Rwandan mountain gorillas.

Dr Amy Vedder was one of the researchers who worked with Fossey and when she died took Fossey's work that one step further to ensure the preservation of the gorillas' mountain habitat, even as the country was disintegrating into war and genocide in the 1990s.
Amy Vedder joins Jenni to talk about the trials and tribulations of working with Fossey, and of the horror she felt as dear friends were dragged into the murderous Hutu-Tutsi conflict.
Amy Vedder & Bill Weber, In the Kingdom of Gorillas published by Aurum Press; ISBN: 1854108395
Amy Vedder's Talk at the Royal Geographical Society will take place on 4 September 2002 at 7.15 pm. Tickets available on door
