Drought, famine and renewed civil war drive 300 Afghan families a day into refugee camps in Iran and Pakistan.
They join the 4 million who fled the country over ten years ago, during the war with the Soviets. The majority of them, mostly women and children, live in squalid poverty. 72% of all Afghan children are said to have lost a relative in the past four years of fighting.
Jemima Khan moved to Pakistan when she married former cricketer, Imran Khan. She tells Jenni about her work to help the refugees and why she's now a special representative for UNICEF's Growing Up Alone campaign.
