Supermarket shopping |

Supermarket shopping , at the best of times, is not the most relaxing of experiences, but at least in the days of the old push button tills, you could pack your bags at your own pace as your goods arrived gently down the conveyor belt.
Today, however, the barcode has changed all that. However adept you are, it's just not possible to bag up all your stuff as fast as it's arriving.
Some supermarkets have a solution - staff at a loose end, who can help you with you packing. Two against one in the bagging-up race should increase the odds of victory.
But it seems to Ali Sparkes that you're often better off without one - and you can't win either way.
