Forced into marriage 1 December 2008
Will the new law prevent this from happening?

Last week the government passed the Forced Marriage Act. This will give courts the power to prevent intimidation and violence against women forced into marriage, but campaigners say this is not enough. JaneÌýtalks toÌýRuhi Hamed,Ìýwho has made aÌýdocumentary which follows the Forced Marriage Unit in Pakistan as they attempt to locate and recover British women whoÌýhave beenÌýforced to marry. They are joined by Jasvinder Singh, the campaigner with personal experience of forced marriage who believes the government should go further and completely outlaw the practice.

Forced To Marry, a Real World documentary, is on 1 December on Â鶹ԼÅÄÌýTwo at 7pm
