Could women teachers in academy schools lose out on maternity pay?

The two biggest teaching unions have expressed concerns about changes to the pay and conditions of teachers working in the government’s flagship academy schools. There are now concerns over maternity pay in these schools. Women make up the majority of the profession and they are concerned that their interests are being overlooked. So, what is being proposed and what efforts are being made to keep young women with families in teaching? Jane talks to Chris Keates of the General Secretary of the National Association of Schoolmasters and Union of Women Teachers and to Lucy Heller Chief Executive of ARK schools
