Compulsory School Dinners 27 Nov 2007
Petchey Academy Canteen
The school where five fruit or veg a day is part of the curriculum

It all looked so promising and yet, if a recent government report is to be believed, the Jamie Oliver school dinner revolution has failed to convince children to opt for healthy school meals.Ìý However deep in the heart of Hackney, London, there is a school where every single student is given a healthy meal every day of the school year.
At the Petchey Academy, school dinners are compulsory and the only choice students are given is vegetarian or non-vegetarian. And, apparently, most students are learning to like it - whether they want to or not. Anna McNameeÌývisits the school's principal, David Daniels to talk about the school's philosophy and the school kitchens to see what's on the menu.
