The Vet Man Cometh
by the_vintners_driver

Michael Flanders and Donald SwannThere's been an outbreak of Flanders & Swannery on the Fantasy Archers topic of . Here's one sample:
Michael Flanders and Donald Swann

'Twas on the Monday morning,
The vet man came to call,
The Guernseys wouldn't let-down,
Ollie couldn't get milk at all.
He injected them with hormones,
To make them right as rain,
And he had to call in Joe Grundy
To milk them all again!

Oh, it all makes work,
For the working man to do.

'Twas on the Tuesday morning,
Joe Grundy came around.
He flustered and he blustered,
And he said,
"Look what I've found!
Your pipes are full of pathogens,
But I'll put them all to rights."
But he cut right through a cable,
And out went all the lights!

Oh, it all makes work,
For the working man to do.

'Twas on the Wednesday morning,
The electrician came.
He called me "Mr Foxbrush",
Which isn't quite me name.
He couldn't reach the fusebox,
Without standing on a churn,
And his foot went in the bottling plant,
'Twas the dairy fitter's turn.

Oh, it all makes work,
For the working man to do.

'Twas on the Thursday morning,
The engineer came round.
With his welder and his spanner,
And his merry dairy sound.
He put another part in,
He took no time at all,
But Ol had to get Mike Tucker in,
To come and paint the wall!

Oh, it all makes work,
For the working man to do.

'Twas on the Friday morning,
Mike Tucker made a start.
With undercoats,
And overcoats,
He painted every part.
But Ol was to discover,
When Mike went in his float,
He'd painted over the milking bail,
And it gave the poor cows bloat!

Oh, it all makes work,
For the working man to do.

On Saturday and Sunday,
They do no work at all.
So it was on the Monday morning,
That Alistair came to call!
