The Search For Scott competition – ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 1

On Friday the 17th July 2009 the Scott Mills show on Radio 1 will launch a vote to decide which finalist will play the role of Scott Mills in β€œScott Mills – The Musical”. The 3 finalists have been chosen from all the applicants by a panel of judges based on audition videos and live auditions. The winner of the public vote will get to play the role of Scott Mills in Edinburgh from 11-13 August 2009.

The voting lines will open for 30 minutes during the Scott Mills show between 16:00 and 19:00 and the result of the vote will also be announced during the show after the votes have been counted and verified.

Rules and Regulations

1. Voting is open to all UK residents (incl. Channel Islands and the Isle of Man) aged 16 or over. Any person directly connected to the production of the program or the voting is not eligible to vote.

2. Voting is by text only. The voting short code to be used is 81199. Texts are charged at standard network message rates. Standard message rates vary dependent on your service provider.

3. Voters will need to text a keyword announced on-air to vote for the candidate they wish to play Scott Mills.

4. Voters must ensure that they key-in the short code and keyword correctly in order to cast a valid vote. Mistyped entries will not be counted but will still be charged.

5. Votes received outside of the voting times will not count but will still be charged at the standard network rate.

6. Voters must ensure they obtain the bill-payer’s consent before voting.

7. Votes are limited to one vote per mobile telephone number. Any votes over and above the 1 vote allowed will not be counted but will still be charged. The ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ reserves the right to disqualify votes or suspend voting if it has reasonable grounds to suspect that fraudulent voting has occurred or it considers that there has been an attempt to rig the vote. The ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ has the right to substitute an alternative selection method at its absolute discretion.

8. The candidate with the highest number of votes will be announced as the winner during the show on Friday 17th July 2009. In the event of a tie, the winner will be selected by a preselected judging panel.

9. The ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ’s decision as to the winner is final and no correspondence relating to the voting will be entered into.

10. If you are listening to the show on the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ iPlayer or any other catch-up service you should not vote as voting lines may have closed.

11. This is not a competition and there will be no prizes for the person who votes for the favourite candidate.

12. The ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ reserves the right to change, cancel or suspend this event at any time and for whatsoever reason.

13. If the voting system fails, for any reason, a contingency plan will be actioned. This may consist of the judging panel who originally selected the finalists deciding who the winner should be.

14. The ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ cannot accept any responsibility whatsoever for any technical failure, malfunction or any other problem with the telephone voting system which may result in any vote being lost or not properly registered or recorded.

15. The voting in this programme accords with the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ's Code of Conduct for Competitions and Voting, details of which can be found on the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ'S Standards and Guidelines website.

17. The promoter of this vote is the British Broadcasting Corporation and the applicable law is the laws of
England and Wales.

18. Entrants will be deemed to have accepted these rules and to agree to be bound by them when voting.
