In tandem with the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ’s TV documentary Hiplife Rewind, this episode of TIA looks back at the emergence of hiplife, its roots in highlife, and considers its ongoing influence.
Some claim that hiplife, Ghana’s take on hip-hop, has a key place in the evolution of West African music. Others even say that without hiplife, there would be no Afrobeats.
