This week on the Arts Hour with Nikki Bedi, Irish director Lenny Abrahamson, who made the film Room, talks about bringing Sally Rooney’s book Normal People to the screen. Filmmaker Oliver Hermanus talks about his film Moffie, set in a South African military training camp in the Apartheid years. British-Nigerian novelist Abi Dare discusses her debut novel The Girl with the Louding Voice, and the bidding war to publish it. Opera singer Roderick Williams gives us Karaoke Carmen, Chilean director Pablo Larrain and Mexican actor Gael Garcia Bernal tell us about their latest collaboration, Ema, and there's an intimate self-recorded performance from Anna Calvi.
Nikki's studio guests are film writer Catherine Bray and Indian comedian Anuvab Pal, who contemplates the challenges for comedic creativity in Mumbai under lock down.
