Amanda's been a TV regular since the 1980s. Her other credits include the Mike Bassett: England Manager film and TV series, and The Blonde Bombshell, where she played the iconic Diana Dors.
Over the years, she's appeared in many detective dramas, including Spender, The Ruth Rendell Mysteries, Dangerfield and The Sight.
Film roles have included playing Deedee Dove, the ex-porn-star wife of Ray Winstone's character in Sexy Beast.
She played downtrodden-wife-turned-lottery millionaire Alison Braithwaite in three series of ITV drama At Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ With The Braithwaites, as well as Mrs Merdle in the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's adaptation of Charles Dickens classic Little Dorrit in 2008.
Amanda's early roles included appearances in Tales Of The Unexpected, TV adaptations of The Importance Of Being Earnest and Shakespeare's Pericles, and Paul McCartney film vehicle Give My Regards to Broad Street.
Amanda received an MBE in the Queen's birthday honours in June 2012.
