A very quiet man who was always deep in thought...
Remembering DI Williams

Frank acknowledged in his autobiography β€œAmong criminals I had the reputation of being a hard man, but one who would deal fairly with anyone caught.”

HeΒ specialised in running informants and indeed he had received information weeks before the robbery that Reynolds was planning β€˜some crime’. However,Β observation on his flat in Putney was difficult andΒ made more so by the fact that Reynolds often used a motorcycle on his reconnoitring excursions.

Jack Slipper remembered Frank as β€œa very quiet man who was always deep in thought." He saidΒ his speciality was "dealing with informants and I don’t think I’ve ever come across anyone who was better at it.β€œ

Frank was partnered by Detective Steve Moore who later said: β€œI rated Frank very highly, he was very well informed.”
