We know him best from Radio 2, Soccer Aid and the X Factor but his other credits are wide ranging. They include co-producing and presenting Channel 4’s Battle of Britain series, marking the 75th anniversary of Battle of Britain Day and presenting Live From Space, a unique 3 part series featuring a live 2 hour broadcast from astronauts aboard the ISS.
It’s the courage, determination and heroism of explorers who have brought us that greater understanding of earth itself.
He’s been a huge fan of exploration in all its forms since he was little. From polar exploration to the world’s first space missions he’s passionate about it all, so much so that he’s a member of the Royal Geographical Society.
Dermot is convinced that explorers are the true icons of the 20th century. He believes that:
