Kicki

Idealistic and looking to make a difference, Kicki from Switzerland fell into a career in humanitarian relief work when she followed love to Africa.

She had always been interested in social causes, from local politics to animal rights and so she jumped at the chance to join her boyfriend, a war photographer in Sierra Leone. When he was killed by the West Side boys Kicki found herself taken in by an NGO and has been in Africa ever since.

She soon discovered that making some kind of difference in the world, to help solve problems, not create more, motivated her. She finds aid work is an intoxicating, exciting and richly rewarding career and despite jumping from one emergency crisis to the next, she has managed to form some very strong and unique relationships.
