Victoria Derbyshire

Victoria Derbyshire is an RTS-nominated presenter and former host of theΒ Victoria Derbyshire programme.

Victoria Derbyshire started at the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ as a reporter in Coventry & Warwickshire. In 1998, she joined Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 5 Live, where she later became a regular co-presenter and covered some of the biggest global stories including 9/11, the Paris Concorde crash, general elections and the Olympic Games.

Formerly host of the Victoria Derbyshire programme until January 2020, prior to Newsnight Victoria also presented on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ News at 9, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ News Channel and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ World News.

During the Coronavirus pandemic, Victoria appeared on screen with the telephone number of the National Domestic Abuse hotline written on her hand to raise awareness of the plight of people who were suffering during lockdown because they were isolating with abusive partners.

In 2015, Victoria was nominated for RTS Presenter of the Year, and won Broadcaster of the Year at the PinkNews Awards in 2015 and 2016. In 2017, her programme won a BAFTA for its coverage of former footballers who had been sexually abused.
