Nick Manz is a jazz pianist based in Birmingham. He was born in Durham in 2001 and has lived most his life in the Midlands. After starting on the classical violin, he discovered jazz piano at the age of fifteen, inspired by the likes of McCoy Tyner, Keith Jarrett and Esbjörn Svensson.

Nick attended the Junior Department at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, studying with Percy Pursglove and Mike Williams. On completion of his A-levels, he first spent a year at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Here he connected with musicians from around the world and explored many different styles. Nick was then offered a scholarship place at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, where he currently studies with John Turville.

Present artistic influences include Sullivan Fortner, Kenny Kirkland and Olivier Messiaen. Nick is a regular performer on the Birmingham jazz circuit.
