Rupal Rajani
Rupal has been with the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ for over 24 years and worked on various programmes throughout her time with the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ.
ο»ΏShe's presented a number of programmes on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Leicester. Including lunch and Drive. She's also no stranger to the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Asian Network having worked on the station for many years before it became a national station.
Rupal got into presenting purely by accident. She actually wanted to go into theatre, but after hearing an ad on her local radio station for presenters, she decided to have a go and the next thing she knew she was on air!
Β Rupal was born in Uganda and moved to Leicester when she was two and has lived here ever since.
Β A few years ago Rupal went back to her birthplace to make a documentary for both TV and Radio about the plight of thousands of Asians who were kicked out of the country by Idi Amin. The documentary has won a number of awards.
This year marks the 40th Anniversary and Rupal aims to reflect how the communities here in the U.K have settled and become a huge part of country, contributing in every way to life in Britain.
Rupal is really looking forward to returning to the Asian Network and re-connecting with the audience and hoping to spending her mornings getting to know the listeners and sharing some great moments together!
