Dot Davies

Dot Davies gets to grips with what matters in Wales with the Phone In on Thursday and Friday mornings.

Dot tells us a bit about herself ...

As my teacher’s used to say in my school reports, "Dot loves a chat". I’m not sure they were being complimentary! It does however seem to have led me down a very rewarding and enjoyable career path. Presenting the Phone-in on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Wales is all about talking and listening to our listeners, something that I never tire of. They always have a story to tell, an opinion to share, and there’s a real sense of us being part of a national conversation, of reflecting the Wales we live in. Even if I am shouted at fairly regularly! Anyone that knows me will tell you I love a good debate.

I'm a Mum of three, so life is pretty busy, but I hope that my experiences as a parent help me when I'm on air. There are always topics I can relate to, even if my eldest thinks Mam tends to 'over-share'. The joy of presenting the Phone-In lies in not knowing what we’re going to talk about, or even who with. From health issues to politics, from nudism to gardening, nothing is off limits! We hear from people of all ages from all over Wales. There’s a sense of connecting us all together.

My TV and radio career began in sport, working on rugby for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Wales. This led me further afield for stints with Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 5 Live, including an annual role at Wimbledon for the tennis. If I can handle John McEnroe I like to think I can handle anything, even a Brexit debate!

It’s a real thrill to be a part of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Wales presenting team, there’s never a dull moment!
