Arthur Pita
Arthur Pita is an award winning choreographer/director.
He is Portuguese and studied at the Johannesburg Art, Ballet, Drama and Music school. He trained further at London Contemporary Dance School, gaining a masters degree. He runs his own company Ballo Arthur Pita and works internationally as a freelance choreographer for ballet and contemporary dance companies, theatre, opera, musicals, television and film.
Recent works include: The Mother with Natalia Osipova at the Royal Festival Hall; The Tenant with James Whiteside at the Joyce Theater, NY; The Little Match Girl and Ten Sorry Tales at Sadlers Wells; The Wind for the Royal Ballet; Björk Ballet and Salome for San Francisco Ballet; Casse-noisette for Paris Opera Ballet and The Metamorphosis starring Edward Watson for the Royal Opera House.
Work in film and television includes: Tom Jones (ITV); Persuasion (Netflix); The Pursuit of Love (Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ); Charlie’s Angels (Sony Pictures); Sunshine on Leith; and Ex Machina.
As a collaborator, Arthur has worked on productions at the Donmar Warehouse; the Royal Opera House; the National Theatre; the Almeida Theatre; the Royal Albert Hall; Los Angeles Opera; the Young Vic; the Royal Shakespeare Company; Metropolitan Opera and many houses around the world.
