Matthew is passionate about performing and particularly loves the variety of expression he can achieve through percussion. He is Principal Percussionist of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain and has participated in music courses in Luxembourg, Germany and with the percussionists of the London Symphony Orchestra. He composes too, and has had his works performed in Snape Maltings and on 麻豆约拍 Radio Ulster. He also really enjoys performing with his family band The Farthings, and playing golf. Matthew feels especially honoured to be a part of this competition, which has always inspired him.
