When a 10 year old Ian Waite accompanied his younger brother to a Saturday dance class, it didn't take long to see just what a natural born performer and dancer he was.

Always aim for the moon, because even if you miss you will still have danced among the stars!
Ian Waite

Winner of the Dutch Professional, UK Ten Dance, Amateur Latin American Championship as well as countless other international achievements, Ian has proved again and again to be an immensely talented and respected performer, teacher and choreographer.

Ian joined the Strictly family back in 2004 as one of the professional dancers in series two. In 2005 Ian partnered It Takes Two presenter Zoe Ball, finishing in 3rd place behind Colin Jackson and and the Strictly winners for that year, Darren Gough and Lilia Kopylova.

In 2011 Ian joined the family as a permanent fixture heading up the hugely successful ‘Waite’s Wednesday Warm-up’, where he gives fans a sneak peek of the Strictly rehearsals while also offering his critique on their routines.

And now, he's joining the People's Strictly family, as dance partner to the fabulous Heather Parsons, who set up a charity to help Intesive Care Unit patients and their families. We can't wait to see them in the Ballroom!
