A Family Affair: The Washington family direct, produce and star in 'The Piano Lesson'

Directed by Malcolm, produced by Denzel and starring John David. The Washington dynasty have all had their part to play in making 'The Piano Lesson' - Denzel Washington's wife and daughters also have acting and producting roles around the film too.

The film, originally based upon a play by August Wilson, is the story of a 1930s family grappling with their parent's legacy through the inheritance of a heirloom piano.

The story is part of the Pittsburgh Cycle of ten plays by Wilson, that Denzel Washington is committed to bringing to the big screen. Two others, 'Fences' and 'Ma Rainey's Black Bottom' have already been made.

Tom Brook looks at the family endeavour and met director Malcolm Washington for Talking Movies.
