This is the moment in 2008, that Iraqi journalist Muntadhar al-Zaidi hurled his shoes at US President George W Bush in protest at America's occupation of Iraq.

As he threw the first shoe, Muntadhar yelled: 鈥淗ere is your goodbye kiss, you dog."

Bush had been giving a joint press conference in Baghdad with Iraqi prime minister Nouri al-Maliki at the time, to agree the terms of withdrawal.

He was in his final months as president with Barack Obama due to take over. US troops had been in Iraq since 2003 after toppling Saddam Hussein's regime.
