The UK is one of the world's biggest consumers of ultra-processed foods - and health experts say manufacturers are just as bad as 'big tobacco companies' for selling 'addictive' items. These foods lack fibre and nutrients and are high in calories - but are often cheap and convenient compared to healthier foods. Dr. Xand Van Tulleken suggests swaps you can make without spending a fortune and show you how to spot UPFs in food, including by using an app.
