Effects of climate change on rice farmers in The Gambia
Climate change is projected to undermine agricultural production and exert more stress on the livelihood of many farmers in the Gambia. As a result, River Gambia is seriously affected by saline water intrusion which in effect threatens the country’s main freshwater source thus affecting many rice farmers in the country who are mostly women. Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ’s Ruth Mulandi was in the Gambia and tells us how dire the situation is.
